VISION
Ctrl+Alt+Decay is the blog of Sean Thomas Milligan, an adjunct instructor and Academic Success Advisor in upstate New York.
Here you can expect semi-academic ramblings on the things that interest me.
As I mention in my opening “welcome” post, “On Death and Decay,” I view decay as an interesting concept around which I’ve noticed (somewhat by accident) much of my research revolves around. Decay signifies death, but not only death—for decay also allows new life to emerge. I look for decay in all of its forms, whether literal or metaphorical. That won’t be the only thing I cover here, but it does serve to anchor much of my thinking.
WHAT TO EXPECT?
I try to write in a way that is serious and credible—backed by sources and scholarship—yet accessible.
You can expect pieces on pop culture, which I am particularly interested in: games, movies, T.V., music, anime, comic books, and so on. I’m also invested in researching academia, pedagogy, and higher education—particularly weird and experimental academia.
Right now, my goal is for weekly posts.
WHY SUBSCRIBE?
It’s pretty simple—you should subscribe if you’re interested in similar things!
I’m really interested in getting to know others who care about similar subject matter, so subscribing not only supports my work and lets me know there are eyes on it, but it helps me to build a community of likeminded folk.
